Inventory Overview

Introduction

For most of our customers, Motive's inventory management system is like a layer over your main inventory system, such as vAuto. You can use it to modify details such as pricing, vehicle specs, images, and photos. While it won't serve as a replacement for your primary inventory system, it does offer some key benefits:

Instant Updates

  • Any change you make to a vehicle in Motive updates the website immediately
  • This allows you to make rapid changes to your pricing and merchandizing strategy while not affecting your primary inventory system

Search and Filtering

  • Utilize the search bar for quick keyword searches within your inventory.
    • Search by stock number, VIN, make, model, and more
  • Apply filters such as 'Changed', 'No Pics', 'No Price', and 'Inactive' to streamline your view.
    • Changed: this filter shows all vehicles that have been modified within Motive
    • No Pics: this filter shows all vehicles that have 0 pictures
    • No Price: this filter shows all vehicles with a price of $0
    • Inactive: this filter shows all vehicles that are set to inactive

Inventory Management

  • Each vehicle listing includes a checkbox, stock number, year, make, model, trim, mileage, display price, and status.
  • Clicking a vehicle allows you to make changes to pricing and incentives. Clicking 'view full details' in the top right gives you the ability to make changes to the rest of the vehicle's information.

Batch Actions

  • Use checkboxes to select multiple vehicles and perform actions in bulk.
  • Deselect all vehicles with one click using the 'Deselect' button.
  • The batch action toolbar includes options to resync prices, set vehicles as active or inactive, and add vehicles to collections.

Sorting and Customization

  • Sort your inventory by ascending or descending order or return to the default listing.
  • Customize your display by filtering, hiding, or showing specific columns.

Pagination and Controls

  • Navigate through pages using pagination controls.
  • Adjust the number of vehicles displayed on each page to your preference.
